What Are Cashless and Reimbursement Claims?

There are two ways to use your health insurance: cashless claim and reimbursement claim.

Cashless claim means you don’t pay hospital bills yourself. If you visit a hospital that is in your insurance company’s network, the insurer pays the bill directly to the hospital. You just show your insurance card and get treatment.

Reimbursement claim means you pay all bills first and then claim the money later. This is used if you go to a hospital not in the company’s list.

For both claims, you must submit documents like medical reports, bills, discharge summary, and prescriptions. Always inform the insurance company as soon as you are admitted.

Cashless is easy and fast, but both options are helpful. Just make sure your policy is active and all details are correct.
